We are seeking a Chief Architect to be responsible for overseeing all technical aspects of the project including: engineering development, architecture, integration and interface design analysis, installation, integration, fielding and field analysis, operations, maintenance, and testing of hardware and  software.

The Chief Architect will ensure that technical planning, leading, organizing, and motivating teams of contractors and sub-contractors are being achieved to a high level of performance, technical and engineering quality. The Chief Architect is responsible for researching, cost-justifying, recommending, and supporting current and delivering future enterprise architectures, including networks, storage, and compute resources; on prem and multi-cloud. Applications include COTS, GOTS (including legacy), Open Source, and cloud managed services. This requires knowledge of security, classifications systems, and processes such as achieving and maintaining authority to operate. This position includes broad mission-aligned IT responsibilities with a heavy focus on data operations, curation, management, analytics, and security.

SAIC is looking for a dynamic and innovative Chief Architect serve as a technology lead. This position requires excellent architecture skills for enterprise, application, security, data, and analytics.  Communication of designs as well as ability to support full development lifecycle is critical to delivering mission outcomes. This role will propose innovations in technology and automation, supporting the business for investment with sponsors and collaborating across multiple IC agencies Collaboration and excellent written skills are essential to success.

 Responsibilities include:

  • Continuous assessment of architecture and IT’s execution of that architecture to support mission, resulting in proposals for tactical and strategic continuous improvement
  • Execute approved plans by refining concepts into actionable requirements, then guiding implementation and operations teams to realize the value of the investment
  • Responsible for leading research, to create business cases for recommended investments for enterprise architectures that encompass complex classified networks and enclaves, multi-cloud, on-prem, a wide range of applications and data, and ever-growing portfolio of analytics capabilities
  • Support the PM in achieving the customer and contract goals and objectives

Qualifications

  • Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance
  • A minimum of a Bachelors of Science/Engineering degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, System Engineering, Network Engineering or other related technical field. 
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience developing solutions for complex projects. 
  • 8570 Certification; Information Assurance Management (IAM) Level III
  • Demonstrated Architecture skills for at least one cloud service provider (preferably AWS) 
  • Demonstrated understanding of architecture of most of the following technology areas: 1) enterprise and application development and modernization, 2) service-oriented design, 3) networking systems, 4) storage and data systems (RDBMS, NoSQL, Graph), 5) compute including design for scaling, high availability, continuous operations, 6) ability to apply and oversee development of analytics (AI/ML/NLP)

Desired:

  • Master’s degree in engineering, computer science, or other related technical field. 
  • Three years planning and executing local and long-haul communications. 
  • Cisco Certified Internetwork Expert (CCIE) certification or equivalent. 
  • Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification or equivalent. 
  • Experience and knowledge of COOP, DR, and Alternate Operating Locations (AOL).
  • Experience in collaborating with counterparts in other IC and governmental organizations.  
  • 10 years of experience designing local, regional, WAN, and network systems and subsystems supporting voice, video, data, and imagery information. 
  • 10 years of experience leading teams of network, system, and architecture engineers.  Demonstrated experience leading Agile and Scaled Agile teams to successfully deliver Mission Outcomes; specifically focused on data ingestion, analysis and fusion, and dissemination.
