Description
SAIC has a contingent opportunity for a Software Test Engineer to join our team in Sterling Heights, MI and Charleston SC in support of U.S. Military Wheeled Vehicle Systems.
This position is contingent upon contract award which is expected February/March 2023. This date is subject to change.
The Software Test Engineer will work closely with an integrated Industry team, Solution/Systems Architect, business team members and other members of the development team and will demand a high level of understanding of requirements, automation and testing to develop and execute test cases.
- Develop and execute test plans, test cases, and test procedures to ensure that all information systems products and services meet organization standards and end-user requirements
- Develop test plans, test schedule, and approach
- Write test cases and scripts and identify data for test scenarios
- Conduct a walk through on test case/script with Test Managers, Requirement Leads, Project Managers, and Development Leads
- Perform and lead tests of software and/or IT systems to ensure proper operation and freedom from defects
- Perform verification activities on work products using defined methods, procedures and criteria with an appropriate verification environment
- Document and communicate test results
- In addition, Develop Requirements Traceability Matrix (RTM) to ensure the test cases trace to software requirements
- Execute and analyze manual/automated tests across software development lifecycle (SDLC)
- Make sure that execution status and results are tracked utilizing the appropriate tools
- Document, track, and log defects
- Call out blocking defects and issues to Test Lead and Scrum Master, and Product Owner
- Work closely with developers on testing issues/defects
- Participate in troubleshooting and triaging of issues with different teams to drive towards root cause identification and resolution
- Verify and close out defects, relevant Change Requests prior to release
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Software Engineering from an accredited college or university
- Master's degree in any of the preceding disciplines may be substituted for one year of general experience
- Minimum 5 years experience in development software test artifacts and conducting software tests for DoD systems
- Minimum of 3 years experience in software test development
- Strong analytical and organizational skills are needed to handle multiple task/projects and to work independently
- Effective written and oral communication skills are also required to work well with all levels of staff and managers
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Must be able to obtain a SECRET Clearance
