Job Summary:

Product Analyst focused on providing subject matter expertise on the Varian Aria EMR product including its functionality and utilization, collaborating with project teams and business partners to meet IT&S project objectives. This position will support the lead analyst and technical teams to ensure successful delivery of the Varian Aria product initiatives according to the Sarah Cannon Radiation Oncology program objectives.

The successful candidate will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, the ability to establish effective working relationships and manage multiple priorities. This includes discussions and collaborating with other project team members to design functional product details and changes, identify and escalate project issues, and ultimately ensure product requirements are met.

The candidate will provide hands-on expertise to independently resolve service delivery or functionality issues with Varian’s EMR product, frequently communicating with project team members, support resources, other supporting external vendors, and end users. This position requires a strong working knowledge of the radiation oncology clinic workflow and how clinicians utilize the EMR most efficiently.

The ideal candidate for this position has an IT product development background with well-developed communication skills. Oncology product and/or clinic-setting exposure, with Varian Aria and MEDITECH experience are a plus.

General Responsibilities:

  • Creates a joint vision for IT solutions by maintaining strong relationships with business unit and strategic partners, and assists in preparing and presenting the value proposition or business case.
  • Provides coordination and clarification to project resources in support of product or solution development, testing, and training/education.
  • Builds network of relationships to draw upon for business expertise that may be required in key areas.
  • Elicits and documents business, user, functional and non-functional requirements. Creates deliverables independently or through product team and manages approvals.
  • Analyzes current or potential business processes and reviews existing information systems to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Develops maps and flowcharts of business processes (current and future state).
  • Designs and implements reports, maps/flowcharts, and screen layouts to improve business processes and workflow
  • Provides coaching, technical, functional guidance on specific analyst project deliverables.
  • Provides expertise in process design and provides leadership in communicating requirements to product development, testing, and education/training.
  • Identifies impact to other solutions or projects, and works with other analysts and stakeholders to identify options and recommendations.
  • Identify product gaps and leads enhancement efforts.
  • Performs detailed analysis and evaluations on current/future state and documents conclusions and recommendations.
  • Lead the creation of standardized programmatic reports for the enterprise.
  • Lead the enterprise deployment to the Sarah Cannon Varian EMR community including configuration, testing, and training.
  • Work closely with each program to ensure software usage optimization.
  • Develops and identifies potential operational changes to streamline operations and enhance service delivery.
  • Oversee new interface coordination per the deployment schedule and assist with future integration strategies to support the Sarah Cannon Radiation Oncology service line.
  • Provide tier 2 customer support to the end users.
  • Ability to multi task, given various task assignments, assisting management in prioritization of tasks.
  • Take ownership of responsibilities, working individually or with teams to accomplish goals.
  • Works with all departments throughout the product delivery cycle to ensure project dates are met and ensure timely completion of Product Analyst deliverables.

Education, Experience and Certifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree – Preferred
  • 5 years’ experience on increasingly challenging projects in business with a proven delivery track record.
  • Demonstrated advance subject matter experience of a service line application
  • A background working with a fast paced, results oriented environment.
  • Some travel required but generally less than 25%

  • Ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies, methods, and processes. 
  • Understanding of the BA/Product Analyst role with ability to educate others about the analyst roles and responsibilities
  • Strong interpersonal skills and proven leadership skills working with diverse and complex projects
  • Solid collaboration, facilitation, and negotiation skills
  • Detailed oriented and analytical with good organization skills
  • Must have the ability to prioritize multiple activities and tasks simultaneously and adapt to a rapidly changing environment
  • Strong problem and issue resolution experience
  • Possess good written and verbal communication skills and be able to communicate effectively with individuals at various levels within the organization
  • Highly motivated and be able to work independently with little supervision
  • Strong SQL skills
