Position Summary: 

Incumbent provides professional expertise to coordinate all facets of disability, leave of absence (LOA), and Workers' Compensation (WC) Claims management for an assigned group of departments serving as the primary resource and liaison for issues.  Coordinates and manages temporary and permanent work accommodations. Determines eligibility and provides consultation for insurance and programs based on regulations, insurance parameters, labor union contracts, policies/procedures, etc.

 

Required Qualifications:

Ability to effectively analyze and interpret policy

Ability to effectively communicate in a clear and concise manner

Ability to work in a large complex matrixed environment

Analytical & mathematical skills to identify problems, conduct research, analyze data and determine solutions

Computer literacy and proficiency

High degree of professionalism to recognize the need for discretion and maintain confidentiality

Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Skill to analyze, organize and independently prioritize work assignments

Strong oral and written communication skills

Thorough knowledge and understanding  insurance and benefit programs

Thorough working knowledge of  Family Medical Leave Act/CFRA,  Americans with Disability Act, California Workers’ Compensation law and system and other employment laws relating to disability

3 years recent experience in leave administration at the analyst level

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience or education in Human Resources

Experience in a hospital or healthcare setting
